Meet some of our pet loving team

Gemma

Billingham Manager

Gemma is our Billingham manager with 15 years of experience in the shop and a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management. She has over a decade of experience keeping and breeding guinea pigs, as well as breeding hamsters, mice, rats, and rabbits. In her downtime, she enjoys relaxing by her koi pond and watching her fish at night.

Sam

Sam

Canine Nutritionist

Sam has worked with animals for over 23 years and is a qualified canine nutritionist, dog trainer & behaviourist. She holds a range of certifications in nutrition & small animal care, giving her expert knowledge in supporting dogs’ health and wellbeing.

When she’s not advising customers, Sam can usually be found with her much-loved cockatoo, Rosie, who used to live at the shop.

Jade

Sales Assistant

Jade has been with us for 7 years and has been an animal lover from day one, growing up with Great Danes and a variety of small pets. She’s got a Level 3 in Animal Management and a business qualification, and currently looks after her pet rabbit. Outside of work, you’ll find her hanging out with her boyfriend or on a cheeky shopping trip (if he’s footing the bill)! 😄

Emily is a true animal lover, with a house full of pets a cat, tortoise, praying mantis, conure, four fish tanks & a bird aviary brimming with zebra finches. She’s loved parrots since she was little & has developed a lifelong passion for all things feathered. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and she absolutely loves her job! 💥

Corey

Sales Assistant

Corey has over 9 years of experience caring for horses, birds, and small animals. With a lifelong passion for animals and a dream of becoming a doctor, he is currently training as a human nurse to balance his care for both people and animals. He has also studied languages and psychology, giving him a strong grasp of Spanish and French. When he’s not at work, Corey enjoys riding his horses.

Owner

Greer has been surrounded by animals her whole life, from dogs as a child to horses from the age of 12. She ran a busy livery yard for decades, caring for up to 35 horses at its peak, and has bred show jumpers and dressage horses. Nowadays, she enjoys a quieter life working full-time at the pet shop while keeping a smaller number of beloved animals. Greer has a keen interest in raw feeding, having transitioned her own dogs in early 2024, and loves sharing her knowledge with anyone curious. Her current pets include Maeva, a black Labrador, Spud, Maeva’s offspring, and Betty, her 10-year-old German Shepherd, along with her cherished horses Aero, Casey, and the playful little pony Porcha.

Ops Manager

Pete has been with the business for over 20 years, has had dogs and cats all his life (and he's older than Noah. Involved in the management, IT, accounts & all the bits no-one else wants to do!
When he's not being techie, he's either walking his dogs or playing Star Citzen!

We’re proud to support the next generation of talent in our community.

We regularly welcome college students from Askham Bryan College for work experience, giving them hands-on insight into our industry. In addition, our office team includes apprentices gaining practical experience in marketing and data, helping them build valuable skills for their future careers.
